What Does the Role of City Councillor Mean to Me:

I am not going to roll in with a heap of unfulfillable promises. I have a very good understanding of what being a city councillor entails and that any forward movement and action is made as a group by majority consensus.

With that I would like to tell you what qualities and skills I can promise to use as a city councillor if elected by you all.

✹ I will be an empathetic listener - Knowing what the community needs and wants requires a listening ear. I want to hear from everyone, not just those whose views may align with my own.

✹ I will communicate with you - Not everyone has time to read the staff reports and watch the council meeting recordings. I will make sure to communicate, in digestible content what is going on in our city, so you don't feel blindsided by sudden changes in your neighbourhood and community.

✹ I will commit myself to continuous learning - There is so much a city councillor needs to read, digest and make decisions on. I have a background in learning. I completed a university degree at the University of Northern British Columbia, and more recently completed two certificate programs at UBC's Sauder School of business in Strata and Property Management. My capacity and interest in new information is endless and I am committed to making educated decisions about the matters at hand.

✹ I will make community minded decisions - There is what I want, what special interest groups may want and what is best for the community. Sometimes they may align, sometimes they may not. I promise to always make decisions based on the best interest of all of our community as a whole.

With that, I would love to hear what is important to you. More to come...
